Get A Head Start On Gift Shopping At Grosse Pointe's Holiday Market

GROSSE POINTE (WWJ) - If you're looking for a way to get a head start on your holiday shopping, head to Grosse Pointe for their 53rd annual Holiday Market this Friday and Saturday, October 14 and 15, for great deals on distinctive gifts from exclusive vendors.

The Grosse Pointe Holiday Mart, which will be held at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., offers shoppers the opportunity to get their holiday shopping done in one place, with more than 30 upscale shops from Michigan and around the country. Items include distinctive clothing, designer jewelry, house wares, toys and more.

When the doors open to the public on Friday, shoppers will enjoy a wide variety of specialty shops, including nine vendors that are new to the Holiday Mart this year. Thirty stores are offering wares for purchase this year, ranging from women and men's clothing to jewelry and accessories to home and garden and children's gifts. Admission is $5 and payable at the door. Proceeds from event will benefit the cancer prevention and educational programs of Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan.

Established in 1958, the Grosse Pointe Holiday Mart has become a popular tradition, drawing shoppers from throughout the Metro Detroit area. Since its inception, the Holiday Mart has raised more than $1 million for Planned Parenthood's cancer prevention and educational programs.
