Geneva, Ill. Selects New World Services -- Hosted by Kane County
TROY -- The Troy government operations software developer New World Systems said Monday that the city of Geneva, Ill. has signed a contract to license New World's fully integrated Logos.Net Public Administration suite to replace a legacy system.
The completely integrated financial management, payroll and human resources, utility management, community development, e-suite, and decision support and dashboards software will improve internal and external reporting; provide time-saving workflow; and empower citizens, vendors and employees with self-service capabilities and easy but secure access to information online.
"The Geneva City Council placed a priority on implementing the technology we need to do our jobs efficiently," said Stephanie Dawkins, Assistant City Administrator. "The City's number one goal is to serve our citizens better. New World's software will dramatically improve the way we do business by allowing customers to access information online. The efficiencies it offers will also allow us to spend more time analyzing accurate data, which will greatly improve our decision-making."
The city's new software will be hosted by Kane County, Ill., allowing Geneva to benefit from the county's experience, large infrastructure and IT resources. Kane County is providing Geneva with hardware and operating system software including redundancy, disaster recovery services, and operating system software maintenance.
"The network that connects our city to Kane County puts us in a unique position to use their infrastructure," said Peter Collins, IT manager for Geneva. "The county already has the staff, infrastructure and back-up capabilities in place, and they have been using New World's software for a while now. New World's solutions will reach across many more departments within the city than our current legacy system. In addition to New World's services and support, we're receiving additional significant benefits by leveraging the county's capabilities with such an expansive city-wide tool."
Added Mark Prevost, vice president of marketing for New World: "We are pleased to welcome the City of Geneva to the rapidly growing New World customer base of nearly 60 municipalities in the state of Illinois. "The city is one of several local governments across the country that are overcoming economic challenges by implementing new technology to increase efficiency. The technology and vision behind our Logos.Net suite of software makes it the perfect solution for local governments looking to reduce costs and maximize resources via hosted environments. Because of this, forward-thinking cities like Geneva can benefit from an advanced ERP system with worry-free administration and maintenance."
New World has provided software for public safety and public administration organizations since 1981. The company designs, develops, markets, supports and implements the fully integrated Logos public administration suite for local governments and the Aegis suite of public safety software for law enforcement, fire and EMS.
