Genesee County Makes It Easier To Report Roadkill

FLINT (WWJ/AP) - Officials in Genesee County are making it easier to report roadkill.

The county Road Commission's website now allows people to email authorities about animal carcasses that are on or along a roadway.

John Daly, manager-director of the Road Commission, said the aim is to get carcasses that might be a hazard to drivers in the Flint area out of the way.

"We had it up for the first time two weeks ago and the first weekend we had two deer and a dead horse reported," Daly told The Flint Journal.

The system was set up after a number of animal carcasses were found dumped in Genesee Township.

To report roadkill, first go to www.gcrc.org. Scroll down the page until you see the icon that says "Carcass: Report dead animals on or by the road." Click the icon and an email will open up that you can send to the road commission.
