General Motors Drops Advertising On Facebook

DETROIT (WWJ) - General Motors is unfriending Facebook - to an extent. The automaker is going to stop advertising on Facebook, preferring to concentrate ad content on its own Facebook pages, which won't cost anything.

GM says it regularly reviews media spending and "it's not unusual for us to move our spending around various media outlets."

The company says in a statement that "Facebook continues to be a very effective tool for engaging with our customers."
