Gas Prices Up In Time For Spring Break
DEARBORN (WWJ/AP) - Markedly less appealing than colored eggs, drivers are finding higher gas prices ahead of the Easter holiday.
AAA Michigan reported Monday the price at the pump rose almost 3 cents over the past week to a statewide average of about $3.80 a gallon. That's still 17 cents less than this time last year.
The best price in Metro Detroit Monday morning was $3.51 (cash only!) at the Mobil on Ryan Road at 13 Mile, as reported by GasBuddy.com. The next best price could be found in Pontiac, at the Marathon station on Baldwin at Montcalm. Stations in Mount Clemens and Dearborn Heights set the price at $3.55.
An area to avoid: Prices are highest on average near Lansing at an average of about $3.83 a gallon.
Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 Michigan gas stations daily.
