Gas Prices Up 9 Cents In Past Week
DEARBORN (WWJ/AP) - AAA Michigan says gasoline prices are up about 9 cents per gallon during the past week to a statewide average of $3.51.
The auto club said Monday the average is 35 cents per gallon higher than last year at this time.
Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Traverse City area, where it's $3.41 a gallon. The highest average can be found in the Ann Arbor, Benton Harbor and Flint areas at $3.52 to $3.53.
For the best deal in Metro Detroit, your best bet is Highland Township. GasBuddy.com Monday morning reported a price of $3.29 a gallon at the CITGO on South Milford Road near Watkins Blvd. Second best reported was $3.32 at Zazz Mart on 9 Mile at Harding Ave. in Hazel Park.
The highest reported price in Metro Detroit Monday morning was $3.89 at the BP on Middlebelt at Wick in Romulus.
