Gas Prices Up 7 Cents From Last Week
DEARBORN (WWJ/AP) - AAA Michigan says gasoline prices have risen about 7 cents during the past week to a statewide average of about $3.77 per gallon.
Gas prices were down a bit the first week and March and were forecasted to continue to decline -- and the auto club said Monday the average is now about 20 cents per gallon less than last year at this time. Monday morning, the best deal in Metro Detroit was $3.52, as reported by GasBuddy.com.
Thrift motorists will find that price in Eastpointe, at the Speedway on 10 Mile Rd. at Valley Ave., and also at BP on 10 Mile Rd. at Hayes. Of the cities it surveys statewide, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Flint area, where it's about $3.70 a gallon. The highest average is in the Ann Arbor area at about $3.81.
