Gas Prices On Roller Coaster Ride
DETROIT (WWJ) - The days of falling gasoline prices appear to be over for now. WWJ's Rob Sanford reports the price at the pump is going up, with no real explanation for it.
It's been a roller coaster ride for gasoline prices, especially here in Michigan. After jumping to well over $4.00 a gallon, prices dropped like a rock -- but now they're going back up again.
So, what's going on? It depends on what you believe. Industry analysts are saying one reason is a continuing problem with refineries in Ohio and Indiana; still others say there's a worry that OPEC will cut production, and then there's the thought the summer driving season is climaxing. One thing is for sure: gasoline is expensive, and no one can say what will happen next.
