Gas Prices Down 5 More Cents In Past Week
DEARBORN (WWJ/AP) - Yay. Michigan motorists will pay 5 cents less for gas this week, according to AAA Michigan.
The current statewide average is $3.692, 91.6 cents more than last year. The average price for self-serve regular fell 4 cents in Metro Detroit over the past week, with the average at $3.675 per gallon.
The Metro Detroit average is 88 cents higher than last year at this time.
Of the cities it surveys, AAA Michigan says the cheapest price for self-serve unleaded fuel is in the Saginaw and Bay City areas, where it's $3.65 a gallon.
According to GasBuddy.com, the best price in Metro Detroit, at $3.49, can be found in Westland at the Firebird on Ford Road at Wayne Road. That price was also reported, Monday morning, in Warren at the Marathon on Ryan Road at Chicago and in Farmington Hills at the Shell on 10 Mile Road and Orchard Lake.
The highest average can be found in the Ann Arbor and Traverse City areas at $3.74.
