Gas Leak Backs Up Traffic On Telegraph Rd.
It's a big headache for drivers on Telegraph road near Long Lake in West Bloomfield, Tuesday afternoon, because of a gas leak.
Motorists traveling northbound on Telegraph were being forced to turn right onto Lone Pine, because of the leak at a building on Telegraph between Lone Pine and and Long Lake Road.
Telegraph was expected to remain down to one lane the northbound side until sometime Wednesday.
WWJ's Beth Fisher reports Franklin Road is a good alternate, but motorists should avoid Lasser Road as well, where a lane was closed there by DTE crews at work.
Meantime, Merriman Road was closed between Five and Six Mile roads because of a hazardous materials situation. Fertilizer spilled onto the road near Puritan Monday morning and crews have been working to clean up the material.
Merriman Road was expected to re-open later Tuesday afternoon. Livonia police say there have been no injuries.
