GalaxE In New Alliance With Informatica
Somerset, N.J.-based GalaxE.Solutions Inc., which is building a large application development operation in Detroit, said Monday it had a new business alliance with Redwood City, Calif.-based Informatica Corp., the world's No. 1 provider of data integration softwawre.
The partnership will allow GalaxE to apply the Informatica technology suite to large scale master data management initiatives to work conducted on behalf of its clients, aimed at eliminating duplication of data and, in turn, cutting costs and increasing overall efficiencies. This will include projects executed in GalaxE's new Detroit software development center, particularly in support of its health care practice.
"As health care data systems are rewritten and applications are being changed and replaced, MDM plays into our strengths, as custom software architects and experts, of successfully moving data across systems not originally designed to communicate," said GalaxE CEO Tim Bryan. "MDM allows us to effectively centralize that information and provide a single version of the truth -- ensuring quality, consistency and efficient data reconciliation."
Master Data Management comprises a set of processes and tools that consistently defines and manages the non-transactional data entities of an organization (which may include reference data). MDM has the objective of providing processes for collecting, aggregating, matching, consolidating, quality-assuring, persisting and distributing such data throughout an organization to ensure consistency and control in the ongoing maintenance and application use of this information.
Added Sandipan Gangopadhyay, President of GalaxE.Solutions: "This partnership is a logical progression to our work with Siperian in implementing key revolutionary capabilities for leading healthcare organizations globally. Jointly, we successfully managed the complex lifecycle of data entities through master data management, coupled with highly ergonomic and efficient web 2.0 and secure services interfaces. We are excited at the next level of capabilities represented by Informatica, through its merger with Siperian earlier this year, and look forward to leveraging Informatica's strengths in data integration, data quality and MDM."
