Funeral Services Set For Slain Westland Teens
WESTLAND (WWJ) - Funeral services have been finalized for two teens whose bodies were discovered in an overgrown field on Detroit's east side last week.
Services for 17-year-old Jourdan Bobbish will be held on Friday at Morning Start Ministries in Garden City, while the funeral for 18-year-old Jacob Kudla will be Saturday at Christ Our Savior Church in Livonia.
Both teens went missing more than a week ago after visiting the east side Detroit home of Kudla's uncle. Kudla's car, a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, was found the next day abandoned at a west side apartment with its sound system removed. Their bodies were found in a field near Coleman A. Young International Airport a few days later.
Family members, meanwhile, say their loved ones will be sorely missed.
"People that don't have a brother don't realize what it's like. Friends come and go, but family is forever and he'll forever be with us. He gave me some of the greatest memories of my life and I was happy to be a part of his," said Joshua Bobbish, Jourdan's older brother.
Joshua Bobbish said the outpouring of support has been overwhelming, but appreciated.
"It's been rough, we've seen people cry who don't cry, we've seen people we haven't seen in a while show up and support our family. We've had a lot of support and it's made it a lot easier to get through this just because of all the effort and support that everyone has shown," he said.
While there hasn't been any arrests in connection with the murders, two ex-cons from Detroit remain behind bars on charges of stealing items from Kudla's car.
