Funeral Plans Changed For Former Grand Valley QB
BRIGHTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Plans for a funeral service for a former national championship-winning quarterback have been changed.
A funeral Mass for Cullen Finnerty is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Livingston County's Brighton Township. Visitation is Monday at the church. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery in the Detroit suburb of Dearborn Heights.
The service initially had been set for another church.
The 30-year-old Finnerty won more than 50 games and three national championships at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., the last in 2006. His body was discovered May 28 in woods in western Michigan after he disappeared during a family trip to a cottage.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cullen Finnerty Memorial Trust Fund are suggested by his family.
