Funeral For Michigan Soldier Killed In Iraq
MOUNT PLEASANT (WWJ) -Hundreds of people lined streets in a mid-Michigan community to remember a soldier killed while fighting in Iraq.
The Morning Sun in Mount Pleasant reports Saturday that yellow bows were tied to trees and yellow balloons were released as the funeral procession for Army Pfc. Robert Friese passed by.
Friese grew up in Harrison, which is about 60 miles northwest of Saginaw.
The 21-year-old died April 29 after his unit was attacked by insurgents with a rocket-propelled grenade in Al Qadisiyah province.
