Police Chief Chuck Nebus tells WWJ Newsradio 950 that they are still searching for the suspect in the shooting.
"The description that we have right now is a black male, who is late teens, early 20s, tall, thin wearing a green jacket and may have left the scene on foot here," Nebus said.
Kenneth Johnson, who lives nearby, says he went into the party store every day.
"It's terrible, it's a sad day in our community; sad to see someone who would have gave you the shirt off his back – to go. It'll just never be the same around here," said Johnson.
