Funeral Arrangements In Place For Fallen Detroit Officer
DETROIT (WWJ) - Funeral information is now being released for a Detroit police officer who succumbed to his injuries Saturday.
Twelve year veteran Patrick Hill was hospitalized April 2 when he was shot in the line of duty and passed away from his injuries over the weekend.
Hill and another officer were wounded in a shootout as investigators were attempting to catch a 23-year-old murder suspect. Detroit Police Chief James Craig held a news conference Monday afternoon to talk about the weekend death of Officer Patrick Hill.
The chief said after a six-month investigation, it appeared that Officer Hill's injuries were the result of "friendly fire."
Hill leaves behind a wife and four children.
His funeral is set for next Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Greater Grace Temple Church.
