Fundraiser To Raise Funeral Money For Girl Hit By Van
BROWNSTOWN TWP. (WWJ) - A fundraiser is being held Saturday at a Brownstown Township restaurant to help the family of one of two girls killed earlier this month when they were hit by a van.
The fundraiser is being held for the family of 13-year-old Tatyana Sawka, one of the girls killed. Her friend, Brianne Meyers, was also killed.
Sawka's aunt, Linda Belknap, says money raised will help with funeral expenses.
"They could really use the help -- as much as anybody could help a family out," said Belknap.
The fundraiser is being held at Marlow's Chill and Grill Restaurant on Telegraph Road in Brownstown Twp. with a spaghetti dinner and raffles until 7 p.m.
