Welcome back to the 2012 Detroit Tigers and grim reality. At least early this season.
The day after Justin Verlander thrilled this town by nearly throwing another no hitter, the Tigers lost 4-3 to the hapless Pittsburgh Pirates.
While Verlander has proven 2011 — when he was the American League Cy Young winner and MVP — was anything but a fluke, it's been different for most of the other Tigers players.
