Free Medical Clinic Saturday In Lincoln Park
LINCOLN PARK (WWJ) - Downriver Care and Wellness is hosting a one-day, free medical clinic in Lincoln Park on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The one day clinic will be open between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 1724 Fort Park Boulevard.
The clinic is dedicated to meeting the needs of those without medical coverage or resources in the Downriver and Southwest Detroit area.
The group plans to continue the free medical clinic on a monthly basis. Downriver Care and Wellness Chairman, Pastor John Peck said the idea for a monthly clinic evolved during several discussions about the healthcare needs of the downriver community.
"A group of pastors from The Lincoln Park Ministerial Association began to entertain the thought of a free medical clinic. It wasn't long before others came onboard. Oakwood Health Systems, The Information Center and several local businesses have joined us to provide needed information and healthcare services at the clinic," said Peck.
Downriver Care and Wellness is currently accepting monetary donations, medical volunteers and supplies. To donate or for more information, contact Peck at the Bethel Assembly of God at 313-381-6090.
