It's Fowling! Football/Bowling Combo Coming To Hamtramck
HAMTRAMCK (WWJ) - Detroit may soon become known for another entertainment export: Fowling.
The sport was developed by Chris Hutt of Ferndale and a group of friends more than a decade ago.
"We came up with the idea while tailgating at the Indy 500," Hutt said. "It was a light bulb moment."
Someone threw a football and knocked over a group of bowling pins and the group quickly came up with rules and a name. Fowling, pronounced "FOH-ling", was born. For a few years, Hutt operated a successful Fowling location in Detroit and soon decided to expand. He's now working on redeveloping a 30,000 square-foot warehouse in Hamtramck.
"Anyone can play this game." said Hutt.

Hutt says you don't need a Matt Stafford throwing arm and there are plenty of women who beat the guys playing the game he observed.
The Fowling Warehouse is set to open before the end of the year.
