Foster: Miguel Cabrera Should Keep On Playing

My message is simple.
Play ball.
People want to know if the Tigers should try to rest slugger Miguel Cabrera and his assortment of injuries or try to get home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Play ball.
You cannot drag Cabrera out of the starting lineup. He cannot run. His ankle was a mass of black and blue and he plays each day in pain. However, he is the leader in the clubhouse and one of baseball's big faces and big bats.
The Tigers simply must keep on trucking and try to win games.
They are six games ahead of Cleveland in the American League Central but this is a big week. The Tigers play a four-game series at home against Oakland and follow that up with three against Cleveland. There cannot be slippage. They cannot stumble.
And Cabrera remains hot. He went 3-for-4 Sunday during an 11-3 victory over the not so amazing New York Mets. Now Miggy is batting .360 with 42 home runs and 128 RBIs.
Can you say MVP again?
Sit Miggy? Are you kidding?
Play ball.
