Former Spartans Walton Drafted To D-League

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The two NBA Development League teams in the Dakotas went in different directions with their first-round picks in the D-League draft Thursday night.

The Sioux Falls Skyforce selected a former NBA player, Gabe Pruitt, with the fourth overall pick, while the Bismarck-based Dakota Wizards chose Illinois State standout Osiris Eldridge with the 12th pick and then traded him.

Pruitt has spent most of his pro career in the D-League, but the Argus Leader reports he appeared in four playoff games during Boston's run to the 2009 NBA championship.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that the Wizards traded Eldridge and fan favorite Renaldo Major to the Bakersfield Jam for sixth overall pick Edwin Ubiles of Siena and Michigan State guard Travis Walton.
