Forecast: First 'Sticking' Snow On The Way
SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Ready or not, the first accumulating snow of the season is coming.
"The chilly weather is here and, eventually, it might be cold enough for some snow," reported WWJ AccuWeather Meteorologist Eric Wilhelm.
Not quite yet, though. Forecasters are predicting a cloudy afternoon with some rain Monday night and into Tuesday night. A Flood Watch is in effect for portions of Southeast Michigan from 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday morning.
But, after a soggy Tuesday, things could get interesting, according to WWJ-TV Chief Meterologist Jim Madaus.
"The system will pull colder air in behind it and the rain will change to snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning," said Madaus. "We could see anywhere from a half inch to around two inches here. The heavier snow will fall north and west of Detroit."
