Ford Expands Recall Of F-150 Pickups
DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Ford is expanding a recall of its popular F-150 pickup truck.
Following government pressure, Ford expanded the recall from 150,000 to 1.2 million F-150's. Government investigators had claimed that there's a risk of airbags deploying unexpectedly, which could injure drivers, or even cause an accident.
The recall covering F-150's from the 2004 through 2006 model years.
Ford had, for awhile, resisted expanding the recall.
WWJ AutoBeat Reporter Jeff Gilbert said F-150 owners will get a recall notice in the mail with instructions.
