For Sale: Detroit School Buildings
Twenty-four recently closed buildings in the Detroit Public School district are up for sale. Churches, community groups and other entities will be given a chance to buy the buildings for neighborhood ventures. District officials say potential buyers should make an offer, because all offers will be considered.
These newly available buildings are in addition to 57 other buildings and 15 parcels of land that have perviously been listed for sale.
Any revenues realized by the sales will go toward the struggling district's budget deficit.
