Football Players Needed For Film
Local football players can try out for roles in a movie starring Kurt Russell set to be shot in western Michigan.
Tryouts will be held Wednesday in Grand Rapids for players between 18-30 years old with extensive football experience.
Russell will play the head high school football coach in ``Touchback,'' a Freedom Films production about a despondent man who attempts suicide, but wakes up to find himself in the past, reliving his high-school football glory.
The Grand Rapids Press says the movie that co-stars Melanie Lynskey and Christine Lahti will be shot this month in Grand Rapids and Coopersville.
Russell portrayed Herb Brooks in the 2004 movie ``Miracle,'' about the 1980 U.S. Olympic team. The veteran actor also appeared in ``Escape from New York,'' ``Death Proof'' and ``The Thing.''
