FlowerDeliveryExpress.com Says Flowers Can Boost Mental Health

DETROIT -- In case you were wondering whether or not to send a special someone some flowers this chilly spring, here's new research from Detroit-based FlowerDeliveryExpress.com.

The company, which I'm sure is completely objective on this matter, reported Wednesday that new research from Rutgers University discovered that flowers can change mood in a positive manner and that the effect is long-lasting.

"What's most exciting about this study is that it challenges established scientific beliefs about how people can manage their day-to-day moods in a healthy and natural way," said Jeannette Haviland-Jones, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology at Rutgers and lead researcher on te study.

The research explored the link between flowers and life satisfaction in a 10-month study of participants' behavioral responses to receiving flowers.

They found that:
* Flowers have an immediate impact on happiness.
* Flowers have a long-term positive effect on moods.
* Flowers increase intimate connections with family and friends.

"Flowers bring about positive emotional feelings in those who enter a room," said Dr. Haviland-Jones. "They make the space more welcoming and create a sharing atmosphere."

The flower delivery service helpfully noted that right now, you can choose tulips or daisies in bright red, yellow and pink colors.  Daffodils are a traditional spring flower in yellow and white.  Also Easter lilies are available at this time for the holiday.

FlowerDeliveryExpress.com is rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau.  The company has also been voted "Best Florist" over a dozen times.  FlowerDeliveryExpress.com delivers from their own brick and mortar flower shops with their own delivery fleet, and through FedEx and UPS from coast to coast.  Deliveries are also made via a computerized sending network of affiliated shops.

Wesley Berry is the CEO of FlowerDeliveryExpress.com, a multi-million dollar online floral delivery operation.  He also owns Wesley Berry Flowers, a Detroit-based brick and mortar florist established in 1946.

Shoppers can make floral purchase by phone at (888) 851-2881 and online at www.FlowerDeliveryExpress.com 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
