Flint Fans To Watch Teen's Olympic Title Match

FLINT, Mich. (AP) — Flint's mayor is inviting hometown fans of 17-year-old Olympic boxing sensation Claressa Shields to gather for a free viewing of her Olympic championship bout.

Mayor Dayne Walling and City Councilman Bryant Nolden are inviting the community to a free viewing event at noon Thursday at Blackstone's in downtown Flint. They urge fans to wear red white or blue.

Foot and drinks are available for purchase.

Shields defeated Kazakhstan's Marina Volnova on Wednesday to advance to the gold medal match against Nadezda Torlopova of Russia.
