Flint Double Stabbing Suspect Dies After He Was Tasered By Police
FLINT (WWJ/AP) - A 46-year-old man accused in a double stabbing in Flint has died at a hospital after police used a stun gun to subdue him.
The man was confronted by officers Wednesday afternoon after barricading himself inside a home, in the 500-block of W. Alma Ave. in Flint, according to Michigan State Police.
Lt. Brian Kaiser said the suspect, armed with a knife, refused to put down the weapon.
"There was forced used to take him into custody. He was tased, and the officers did have to use force to get the knife out of his hand, so it was very much a deadly force situation," said Lt. Brian Kaiser with Michigan State Police.
WJRT-TV reported that the stun gun was used at least twice.
An autopsy will be performed to determine how the man died.
A 51-year-old woman who the man allegedly stabbed was listed in stable condition at a hospital later Wednesday. The second victim, a 52-year-old man, was in critical condition.
Kaiser said both had been stabbed "in the neck area."
Police have not discussed how these three people knew each other. Kaiser said he didn't know if any of them lived at the residence. An investigation is ongoing.
No names were immediately released.
