Flags To Be Lowered For Mich. Soldier Killed In Afghanistan
GRAND RAPIDS (WWJ) - The state of Michigan today, honoring a 32-year-old soldier who lost his life in Afghanistan.
U.S. flags across the state are being lowered for U.S. Army Cpl. Joseph A. VanDreumel, who died earlier this month in a roadside blast. Funeral services also are scheduled at noon at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Grand Rapids.
VanDreumel joined the Army in January 2010 and trained at Fort Knox, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife and two children.
