Four Charged In Murder-For-Hire Plot
MOUNT CLEMENS (WWJ) - An alleged murder-for-hire plot has been foiled in Macomb County. Authorities say family and friends hired hit man to kill an Armada Township woman.
Macomb County Sheriff Tony Wickersham said investigators believe a 24-year old Ferndale woman wanted to kill her boyfriend's soon-to-be ex-wife, and got help from the boyfriend's sister and her boyfriend.
Wickersham said the first attempt on Jessica Sears' life didn't go through as planned because the Detroit hit man they'd hired backed out at the last minute.
Wickersham said the suspects then offered $8,000 to another supposed hit man, who turned out to be an undercover sheriff's deputy.
"On Monday, our undercover officer made arrangements to meet up with Mallorie at a business in the city of Warren. Mallorie was present; Christina was present. Mallorie also brought her 3-year old child to this meet; provided our undercover officer with the money to go out and do the killing," he said.
"They actually provided information about what they'd like to see done. And they mentioned that they'd like to see her suffer for a little bit, prior to her, you know, dying," Wickersham said.
Mallorie Wilson-Strat and Christina Sears were arraigned Wednesday in Warren District Court on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree premeditated murder and solicitation of murder.
Bashar Mansour and David Clark were arraigned Wednesday on conspiracy charges. Clark is accused of being the hit man originally hired for the job.
Wickersham said Sears' husband was arrested and released.
The other four suspects entered not-guilty pleas during an arraignment on Wednesday. Preliminary examinations are April 21.
Wilson-Strat's attorney declined to comment. The other three defendants didn't have lawyers.
