Five Best Moments From Masters Sunday 2015

Bryan Altman, CBS Local Sports

The holiest day of the devout golf fan's calendar is undoubtedly Masters Sunday. The prestige of winning golf's coveted green jacket is a mere 18 holes away for the select few that have survived golfs most legendary course. On this particular Masters Sunday, it wasn't really about a select few, but about just one who ran away with the lead in Thursday's opening round and never looked back until. That man was Jordan Spieth, who shot 18-under and claimed the green jacket and his first major victory at the ripe old age of 21.

Spieth was calm, cool and collected even after sleeping on the Masters lead with the likes of major champion Justin Rose, three-time Masters champion Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods and world No. 1 Rory McIlroy lurking and hoping for an opportunity to strike at the young leader that never came. From Spieth and the rest of the star-studded field there were a number of moments that reminded us why Sunday at the Masters is one of the best days of the sports year. Here's a look back at some of the best moments from the final day at Augusta.

5. Tiger Gives Spieth A Quick Pep Talk

It's hard to imagine what Woods might have said to Spieth before their round began at the driving range. Whether it was simply an extended "good luck" or something deeper than that, I'm sure it was interesting for Woods to see a 21-year-old kid making big waves at the Masters the way he did years and years ago. Oh to be a fly buzzing around the driving range for this conversation.

4. Justin Rose Nearly Holes It From The Trees

Even though Spieth never wavered, Rose was within three shots of him before the two made the turn onto the back nine. A big reason why was this incredible shot off of the pine straw.

Of course that shot wouldn't have meant much if he didn't make this easy putt. He joined his golf ball in doing a little bit of Hula hooping once the ball finally dropped in.

3. Tiger Woods' Eagle

By most standards it was a solid weekend of golf from Tiger Woods. He didn't play his best round of golf Sunday and finished the tournament at -5, but there were still some vintage Tiger moments like this eagle on the 13th hole.

2. Phil Mickelson Birdies From The Bunker

Just another unbelievable chip-in from a bunker by Phil Mickelson, nothing to see here. At least not from the best short-game player of his generation.

1. Jordan Spieth: Record Setter And Masters Champion

Jordan Spieth didn't just claim his first Masters win, but he did so while breaking the record for most birdies in a Masters tournament with 28 of them over the course of the weekend. This one was the record breaker.

Amazingly, Spieth wasn't even done setting records. He his birdie on the 16th hole made him the first player in Masters history to ever reach 19 under par. Between that, the record for birdies and the 54-hole leader record, Spieth more than deserved to put on this green jacket at the end of the tournament.
