After one of the mildest winters in Michigan history, spring has sprung.
That means it's time for severe weather, allergies and those pesky potholes that seem to pop up everywhere. The First Forecast team wants you to be prepared to face all of them headon.
That's why we're bringing back First Forecast: You Ask, We Answer. It's a half-hour special designed to help explain all the things that can help you get through the spring season.
This year, we tackle some big questions from you, the viewer. First Forecast Chief Meteorologist Jim Madaus sits down with a long term forecaster from the National Weather Service to find out why this winter was so mild and if it means this summer will be even hotter.
We also get the scoop on severe weather and if we can expect to see more of the storms that ripped through Dexter earlier this year.
We all know that pharmacies are full of remedies for allergies, but what if you don't want to take the pills? Syma Chowdhry talks to a local allergist to get some simple natural steps you can take to keep your sinuses clear when the pollen fills the air.
And why does Michigan have more potholes than the states around us? Randy Bhirdo answers that burning question when he talks to the folks from MDOT to see what they are doing to keep the roads free and clear.
Bugs and mosquitoes are the biggest pests of summer and this year could be the worst. Jill Washburn goes to the experts in Lansing to find out why you may want to load up on bug spray this summer.
