Firefighters Battle Blaze At Warren Strip Mall
WARREN (WWJ) - Detroit firefighters gave their counterparts in Warren a hand Thursday morning after crews spent hours battling a blaze at a strip mall.
WWJ's Ron Dewey reports the fire broke out around 2 a.m. in a former Farmer Jack store that is now a resale warehouse on Ryan Road, at 10 Mile Road.
Aerial trucks dumped water at different points of the building to keep flames from spreading to the other dozen small businesses in the strip mall.
At one point, the roof to the warehouse collapsed, exposing its completely gutted insides.
While firefighters were able to contain the flames to the warehouse, a neighboring Family Dollar store received some water and smoke damage.
No injuries were reported.
It wasn't immediately clear what started the fire.
