Fire Destroys Detroit Pizza Place
DETROIT (WWJ) - Emergency crews were busy Thursday morning, as a fire destroyed a pizza shop on Detroit's west side.
WWJ's Vickie Thomas reports Papa's Pizza on Grand River and Woodmont, between Greenfield and Southfield, was completely gutted by the blaze.
Officials on the scene say no one was injured and no neighboring buildings were damaged by the one alarm fire.
Grand River was closed in both directions for several hours as firefighters tried to control the inferno. A salt truck was also on the scene, after water that overflowed into the street was quickly starting to freeze.
