Fire At U.S. Steel Power Plant On Zug Island
It was an early morning emergency on Zug Island in River Rouge.
WWJ Newsradio 950's Vickie Thomas reports that the fire broke out at U.S. Steel's power plant located on the island.
Firefighters from Ecorse and River Rouge both responded to the fire.
According to River Rouge Fire Department officials, there were no injuries.
Authorities describe the fire as "somewhere in the middle" as far as being categorized as "major" or "minor."
The power plant is still operating. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
