Feds Clear FBI Agents In Shooting Of Michigan Imam
Four FBI agents who shot and killed a Michigan mosque leader during a 2009 raid have been cleared of criminal and civil right violations by the Justice Department's civil rights division.
The department announced its findings Wednesday.
Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah was shot 20 times during an Oct. 28, 2009, raid at a suburban Detroit warehouse. Federal authorities have said agents shot and killed Abdullah only after the Detroit cleric fired at them as they tried to arrest him.
The agents, who have not been identified, have previously been cleared of wrongdoing by Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox. Police in Dearborn, where the shooting took place, have also cleared the agents.
