FBI Identifies 'Person Of Interest' At Oakland County School As Subcontractor

AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) - FBI investigators say they're no longer concerned about a man previously believed to have impersonated a Google employee at an Oakland County school.

Earlier, federal investigators said the man had entered Oakland Christian School in Auburn Hills last Thursday at around 3 p.m., wearing a Google jacket. The man identified himself as a Google employee and asked several times to speak with the principal.

Initially, the FBI said the man was an impostor who did not work for Google.

However, after releasing photos and reaching out to the public for tips, FBI spokesman Tim Wiley said they received and verified information regarding the man.

As it turned out, Wiley said, the man was on site at the school "to pursue a legitimate business call as a subcontractor."

Wiley earlier praised school officials for taking precautions by calling police.

"It's a testament to the commitment to they have to keeping their students safe and their parents well-informed," Wiley told WWJ's Zahra Huber.

No further information has been released.
