FBI Releases Crime Statistics For Michigan
DETROIT (WWJ) - The most dangerous city in the state? Flint. WWJ's Sandra McNeill reports on new FBI statistics released Monday.
The numbers show declines in every violent crime in Detroit last year, except rape. There were 310 murders in the city last year, but that is down from 363 in 2009.
Flint saw an increase in nearly every crime except larceny and car thefts, it is now the most violent city in the state.
The numbers of violent crimes were up in Ann Arbor, Lansing and Grand Rapids.
Sterling Heights remains the safest city in Michigan, recording only one murder last year.
