FBI Raids Wayne Doctor's Office
WAYNE (WWJ) - Federal agents raided a doctor's office in the city of Wayne Friday afternoon -- on suspicion of illegal narcotics.
U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade announced the unsealing of an indictment for providing prescriptions for OxyContin, Vicodin, and other narcotics in exchange for cash payments..
Wayne Police Chief Jason Wright said his department has been working with the FBI for a while on a case against Dr. M. Soloman. He said a search warrant was served there Friday afternoon.
WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with John Rowlan, who owns Jack's Sports Center next door to Soloman's office. Rowlan said he's seen some suspicious individuals lingering near his door.
"I've had nothin' but seedy looking people walking next to my store every day, hanging out. It's been pretty horrible -- not been good for business," Rowlan said. "It's been pretty miserable for a while. They come in by the van-load and leave their garbage in the street, go next door and then they're back out in a few minutes and back in the van and gone."
Witnesses said police are detaining eight to 10 people, who were seated on the sidewalk in front of the office.
