Faurecia To Tout Clean Diesels At Detroit Event
With emissions around the world continuing to increase, pressure is rising for automotive suppliers to provide more environmentally friendly and efficient products.
At the 2010 Directions in Engine-Efficiency and Emissions Research Conference Sept. 27-30 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center, the world's largest supplier of emissions control technologies, Faurecia, will showcase how its innovations are helping original equipment manufacturers meet these demands within light, medium and heavy-duty diesel engine applications.
Faurecia's Emissions Control Technologies business group will conduct a poster presentation Sept. 28 at 4:40 p.m. that will focus on the development of its Thermal Enhancer for combined partial range burning and hydrocarbon dosing on medium and heavy-duty engine applications.
Faurecia will also exhibit its ActiveClean technology portfolio at booth 237 throughout the week, including its Thermal Enhancer, Thermal Regenerator, Selective Catalytic Reduction and Diesel Particulate Filter. These systems provide maximum emissions control efficiency with reliable removal and conversion of pollutants -- all while achieving maximum performance and fuel economy.
"The DEER conference is an excellent platform for industry leaders to come together and identify the trends and next steps in creating more efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles," said Michael Clegg, chief technical officer of Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies, North America. "We are honored to share our expertise as the world leader in emissions control with DEER attendees."
One in every five vehicles is fitted with a Faurecia exhaust system. Faurecia is continuously focused on developing "clean" innovations, which include technology and methods to control vehicle emissions from gasoline and diesel engines; recovering and reusing heat generated by the vehicle; and reducing overall vehicle weight.
For more than a decade, the DEER Conference has been the U.S. Department of Energy's primary mechanism for the public exchange of state-of-the-art advanced combustion engine research and development. The conference aims to foster the exchange of information and best practices in the industry through the presentations and posters as well as provide the opportunity for attendees to network with industry colleagues. The exhibit hall features more than 50 companies showcasing the latest innovations, products and services.
Faurecia, the world's fourth largest auto supplier, is based in Nanterre, France, and has its North American headquarters in Auburn Hills and technology and development centers in Holland and Troy.
