Fatal Shooting On Detroit's West Side
A man shot and killed this morning on Detroit's west side, but not before he drives into a drug store while trying to escape his attacker.
It happened at McNichols near Schaefer. A man sitting in his car outside a tavern when a second man walked up and shot in the car. While trying to escape, the victim hits two other cars, his vehicle lunges across the street and plunges through the outside wall of Davis Cut-Rate Drugs. The unidentified man, in his mid-30's, was killed.
The owner of the drugstore, Mitch Wiener, says a significant amount of damage was done to his store.
He plans to re-open on Thursday after patching up the wall and cleaning up the interior.
No report of any arrests or suspects at this time.
