Ypsilanti Man Killed, Woman Injured In Dramatic Ann Arbor Crash
ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - A 22-year-old Ypsilanti man is dead and a 21-year-old woman, also from Ypsilanti, was injured following an overnight crash in Ann Arbor.
This crash, which occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., shut down eastbound I-94 past State Street for several hours.
Police said the car in which they were riding flipped on I-94, near State Street and both were thrown from the vehicle. Alcohol is a suspected factor in the incident, police said, adding neither was wearing a seatbelt.
The freeway was closed for four hours. Traffic was flared off at State Street during the start of the early morning rush hour, with drivers taking surface roads back to I-94 before the freeway reopened.
Investigators are still examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
