Farmington Hills Man Charged With Murder
A Farmington Hills man was arraigned Sunday in the murder of a man they believe is his nephew at a Troy gas station Friday night.
Hayes Bacall, a 50-year-old Farmington Hills man, was arraigned from his jail cell Sunday morning in Oakland County Circuit Court and charged with first degree murder-premeditated and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony for allegedly killing 33-year-old Saif Jameel, of Sylvan Lake, believed to be his nephew.
"The magistrate ordered Mr. Bacall to be held without bond by the Oakland County Sheriff's Department and a preliminary exam is to be scheduled within the next 14 days," said Troy Police Lieutenant Michael Lyczkowski.
Bacall is accused of walking into a back office of the gas station and shooting Jameel several times, before walking out and telling another employee to call 911. He then went outside and waited for police to arrive.
Lyczkowski says they're still investigating a motive, but says they know there was some kind of dispute between the two of them. The judge entered a not guilty plea for Bacall.
