Family Wants Answers In Death Of Detroit Teen
DETROIT (WWJ) - The parents of 16-year-old Brian Robinson Jr. say they want to know why someone murdered their son at a northwest Detroit home earlier this summer.
Brian's mother Patrice Robinson said Brian called her that day to say he was going to get a ride to his friend's house.
"I said with who and he said with one of my friends from school, 'cause he never leaves with anybody -- he normally waits on me to pick him up. So, he told me he was gonna' be there, you know, with some friends," she told reporters. "But, who ever would have thought that this was gonna happen. I never thought this in my wildest dreams that someone would be calling me telling me my son was murdered."
Police said Brian was killed between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. on July 20 on Mansfield between Trojan and Pembroke Avenue.
Brian Robinson Sr. said his son was a good boy who was involved in sports and planned to study engineering in college.
"He was graduating from high school in January. He was very athletic. And, we just don't understand why (he was killed) and for what reason? And, we can't get any rest until we find out why and who done this and why did they do it?"
A cash reward up to $2,500 is being offered for tips leading to an arrest in this case.
