Family Loses Home In Warren Arson Fire
WARREN (WWJ) - A Warren mother and her four children are burned out of their home, in what police are calling an act of arson.
It happened in south Warren on Toepfer, east of Van Dyke, Wednesday night where the fire was intentionally started by one of two squatters in the upstairs apartment of a two-story flat. He escaped but a second squatter had to be pulled from the home. She's now at an area hospital.
The fire spread to the downstairs apartment where the mother and her four children lost all their belongings. The mother had complained to police about the squatters and was trying to get them kicked out. Police are now questioning one of the squatters.
