Fall For Hayrides At Your Huron-Clinton Metroparks
MILFORD (WWJ) - Summer is fading away and the smell of fall is in the air.
The change of the seasons means Autumn's reds, yellows and golds will soon be coloring the trees.
Slow your pace by taking a scenic fall hayride at these Huron-Clinton Metroparks:
Kensington Metropark
- Tractor-drawn Pick Your Pumpkin Hayrides
October weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m. Take a hayride to and from the farm's pumpkin patch where you can select your perfect Jack-O-Lantern pumpkin. Hayride fees are: $5/adult, $3/child & senior, children 2 years and younger, free. Pumpkins and gourds are priced according to size. For more information, call 810-227-8910.
- Chartered Hayrides
Privately chartered hayrides can be reserved any day throughout the year. Pile up to approximately 20 passengers into a straw-filled tractor drawn wagon for a scenic ride along the Huron River. Evening charters are available on the hour at 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Daytime rate: one-half hour/$50. Evening rate: one-hour/$150, two-hour/$250, three-hour/$375, four-hour/$500. Extend your evening with a bonfire for $50. Daytime charters are available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more details or for reservations, call 810-227-8910.
Oakwoods Metropark
- Evening Hayride & Bonfire

- Evening Lantern Tours
Fridays and Saturdays, October 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Take a hayride followed by a lantern-lit hike around nature trails where a host of interesting characters are sure to make you laugh, learn and have a great time. Wolcott Mill Metropark
- Pumpkin, Cider & Donut Wagon Rides
Saturdays and Sundays, October 5, 6, 12, 13, 20, 26 & 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take a wagon ride down the farm lane to the pumpkin patch to pick your own pumpkin, and then stop for a cup of cider and a donut. This year, take a walk to the farm's 5-acre corn maze from the pumpkin patch. Fee: $6/adult, $4/ child & senior. Pumpkins are priced according to size. For more information, call 586-752-5932.

Fridays, October 4, 11 and 18 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Come enjoy the beauty of the fall season with a nature-themed wagon ride through the woods and fields.
