Export-Import Bank Sees Great Lakes State As Prime Area For Business
NOVI (WWJ) - Owners and operators of small to mid-sized businesses attended the one-day forum in Novi where they discussed what resources are available to help export their products to foreign markets.
Fred Hochberg, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, says the Great Lakes state is in a prime position to export a variety of goods overseas.
"Made in Michigan is well positioned; from agriculture to automotive to furniture - the full range of products. There is a company right by here called xxx that make equipment for aircraft we are helping them export $75 million worth of equipment to Mexico and Ireland for the construction of air frames," said Hochberg.
This year, more than 50 percent of small business funding from the Export-Import Bank went to Michigan companies and totaled close to $150 million dollars.
