Expect Great Lakes Levels To Be Lower In Summer
DETROIT (WWJ) - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says Great Lakes water levels will be mostly lower this boating season. It says all but Lake Ontario will have lower levels in the summer 2011 season than they did in the 2010 season.
The corps says this summer's level on Lake Superior will be 13-15 inches below 2010, and about 13 inches below its historical average.
Lake Michigan and Lake Huron will be 7-12 inches below 2010 and about 22 inches below average.
Lake Erie will be 6 inches below last year and the average.
And Lake St. Clair, even though its not a Great Lake, will be seven inches below 2010, and a foot below average.
