Ex-Mayor Conflicted Over Telling Truth About Affair
DETROIT (WWJ) - Ex-Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick says if he could do it all over, he's not sure he'd have told the truth about an affair with former chief of staff Christine Beatty.
The statement comes in a deposition filed Thursday in federal court in Mississippi as part of Kilpatrick's lawsuit against the city's former communications provider, SkyTel.
Kilpatrick says ``telling the truth'' would have saved his ``own butt,'' but he was ``trying to stand up for'' his wife and three sons.
Kilpatrick gave the deposition as part of his lawsuit over the public release of his text messages.
